Your first-day goal: one correctly recorded flight

Start by confirming your account, company membership and simulator connection. You do not need airline-management permissions to understand your own flight workflow.

1. Confirm your account and airline

Review Settings and your profile. Use the company directory to find the intended airline and follow the joining options it offers. Check the company name carefully.

A submitted join request may require acceptance. If you are waiting, contact the airline through its chosen channel; do not assume the application already grants company access.

2. Ask which flights you should operate

Once membership is active, confirm your assigned duties, starting airport and suitable aircraft with the airline. Read its operating instructions and pay or progression policy. Available pages depend on your role; a missing management button may simply mean it is outside your duties.

Where available, review My wallet & progress. Rank and type-rating rules can affect eligibility when the airline enforces them. A new pilot should resolve an eligibility warning with the airline rather than choosing an unrelated operation to get past it.

3. Connect the simulator

On Windows, use flyLAT Web Bridge for automatic MSFS/X-Plane detection, or the available Windows X-Plane plugin alternative. macOS and Linux X-Plane users use the native plugin. Follow the connector guide for the supported setup.

Open the simulator, complete pairing and check that the portal receives the actual aircraft state. Pairing and receiving live simulator data are separate checks.

4. Prepare the intended company flight

Open FLY NOW. Inspect any active flight before choosing Prepare flight. For a company passenger operation, select the correct company route, direction and aircraft. Confirm departure, destination and flight number.

Free Flight, Ferry and freight workflows serve different purposes. Flying between the right airports in the wrong mode may not satisfy the airline's intended operation. Use the tracked-flight tutorial for dispatch, SimBrief and preflight details.

5. Fly and complete the portal record

  1. Resolve preflight warnings and confirm the simulator is at the correct starting location.
  2. Start tracking using the portal's available control.
  3. Monitor the connection during the flight.
  4. After landing, follow the completion workflow and read any pending or review message.
  5. Open the completed report and verify the aircraft, airports and outcome.

Landing alone does not finish the portal record. If tracking or completion stops, keep the existing flight ID and investigate before creating another record.

6. Review your first result

Find the flight in Flightbook. Review company pay or progression only after the relevant operation completes, and remember that these depend on airline policy. Personal or unrelated flights do not automatically earn company rewards.

If something is wrong, share the flight ID, expected result and displayed status with the appropriate airline contact or support. Your first-day checklist is complete when membership, live tracking and a finished flight record are all confirmed.
