A route defines where you fly; a schedule defines when

Create the passenger airport pair first. Then verify it with a linked passenger flight and build the timetable separately.

1. Create the airport pair

Open Airline → Airline Operations → Route Management, then Create Route.

  1. Enter Departure and Destination. Confirm the airport codes.
  2. Review the Outbound and Inbound flight-number fields and the route details offered by the builder.
  3. Open Advanced if you need an opening state, season dates, an operations note, or aircraft restrictions.
  4. Use only restrictions you intend to enforce. A class or family limit may exclude aircraft you expected to schedule.
  5. Choose Open Route and confirm the new pair appears in the list.

2. Understand direction and verification

One route covers A to B and B to A; do not create a duplicate just for the return leg. When planning a flight, choose the direction and check the corresponding flight number.

A new route may show Unverified. Complete a tracked passenger flight associated with that company route, then check that it shows Verified. An unrelated flight between the same airports is not enough. The schedule builder requires an active, verified route that is not archived.

3. Review the route before changing it

  1. Use the list filters and verification filter to find the intended route.
  2. Open its details and confirm the airport pair, current status, season and aircraft rules.
  3. Check any available flight and performance records in their date context.
  4. Review affected schedules before changing a route's operating state or limits.

Use Routes for the operational route view. Route Management and the operational view serve different tasks; if a management action is unavailable, check your permissions and feature access.

4. Close or season a route deliberately

A seasonal plan needs dates matching the intended operating period. Before choosing Close Route, inspect future schedules and communicate changes to pilots. Read the confirmation; choose Keep Route if you are only reviewing it. Do not assume closing a route automatically replaces its scheduled services elsewhere.

If a route is missing from the designer

Clear the designer's filters, confirm the airline, and check verification, active state, archived state, dates, aircraft suitability and any class/family restriction. Correct the existing record before recreating it.

Next: build the aircraft schedule.
