Give each person the access their job needs

Joining the airline does not automatically make a pilot a fleet, finance or HR manager. Review membership and permissions separately.

1. Review joining requests

Open Crew & Permissions. Check Join requests, identify the applicant, and choose Accept or Decline deliberately. Confirm the resulting membership state.

The HR Employees area also provides applicant and roster workflows. Match company and username before acting.

2. Create a role for a responsibility

Authorised owners can use Custom roles or HR's Roles section.

  1. Choose a clear name, such as Fleet Coordinator.
  2. Select the sections the person needs to open.
  3. Select the actions the role may perform.
  4. Review spending, fleet and employee-management actions individually.
  5. Save and inspect the role's permissions.
Section access and action permission differ

Opening a workspace is not the same as being allowed to make every change there. Check both when someone can see a page but cannot complete a task.

3. Assign and verify

Find the active employee and choose Assign role. Confirm the name and role, then have the employee refresh and check the intended controls. Features can also be restricted by rollout or account eligibility.

Do not enable every action to solve one blocked task. Identify the missing permission first.

4. Change or remove access

Remove role differs from removing the person from the airline. Review their work before changing membership. Deleting a shared role can affect several employees, so inspect its assignments and confirmation.

Pilot ranks and qualifications are configured separately in Pay & progression. A rank badge is not a management permission. Continue with the HR guide.
