Preview with sample data, then verify a real flight

The sample preview helps you design; the published source is what your stream displays.

1. Choose a layout

Open Tools → Streamer Overlay. Choose a lower third, top bar, compact layout or blank canvas. Set the canvas size for the output you want.

Use Sample flight and the preview backdrop options to check readability against transparent, bright and dark scenes.

2. Edit the elements

  1. Select an existing element or add text.
  2. Set its content, position, size and alignment.
  3. Choose font, colours, background and opacity.
  4. Check that values fit without clipping.
  5. Choose whether the overlay should hide when no flight is active.

Keep important flight details readable at the final stream size, not only while zoomed into the editor.

3. Save and connect the source

Select Save & publish. After the first saved design, use Copy URL from the Browser source URL area.

  1. Add a Browser Source in OBS or Streamlabs.
  2. Paste the generated URL.
  3. Set its width and height to match the size shown by the portal.
  4. Check the transparent background and placement in your scene.

4. Verify updates and privacy

Saved edits appear in the source automatically. Use Open source to inspect the published output, then check it with a real tracked flight.

Keep the URL private: anyone with it can see the overlay and its flight fields, although it does not grant account access. If needed, use Reset private link and replace the URL in your streaming source.

If nothing appears

Check whether there is an active flight, whether hiding while inactive is enabled, whether the design was published, and whether the source URL and canvas size are correct. A sample preview is not an active flight.
