🚀 flyLAT Progress Thursday - Upgrades people upgrades

Now I no one asked for a progress, sorry, promise Thursday however, you're getting one.

As always I am your host for this moment in time as your eyes skim over this very here text. My name is Simmy and I'm your resident idiot who has been let loose of the code that we all lovingly call flyLAT.

With that out of the way, let's actually talk updates. So this passed weekend, we released v0.6.1 and it went well! We covered 30+ major tickets that have been dwelling about longer than we'd hope but alas we are making progress. Included in this last update was some much needed ui updates, finally bringing routes and facilities up to date with fleet. This is still a work in progress of course but we took the first steps and that's progress. We saw some other quality of life improvements namely around flight planning. Yes, you would be right in the thinking this is being done ahead of the "pre-sale" that's semi-announced, but let's face it, we've talked about it enough. We're ensuring that the app that goes on pre-sale is at the very least, stable and as bug-free as can be.

Once we progress, again, revisiting the facilities topic, that, for as long as I can think now, has been bleak and sparse on the feature set, should get some love soon but it does require a lot of new api's and a fair grind on the ol' ui so we're building up to that. I say this in true progress / promise updates as we will revisit this when we can. We hear you, we've made note of it and we will work on it when it boils to the top of the list. That list doesn't get prioritised on what's being shouted about the most anymore now, a change from our end whereby we're now planning based on effort and impact / return of gratitude we'll get from you pesky lot.

Please bare in mind I say that as light hearted as ever.

SO, what am I really saying? Well, you're going to see a few more maintenance and quality updates over the 0.6.x title set. Luke has been moaning in my ear about some features he REALLY wants me to put in the app so seeing as he has been asking so nicely, I'll get them done soon. These features include integrated messaging services for the app, that he's actually messaging me on a daily basis about, so anything to bring peace back. Another feature would be improvements to cargo, introducing a new multi-drop feature and he wants a new notification system too. That last one I've not even seen yet so that should be fun.

If you're reading this thinking hell, we're never going to see schedules. Well may I interest you in my previous progress update, the one whereby I covered everything that needs to be done before we can touch schedules.

Read that update here: Simmy's amazing previous update that I definitely want to read

As for Cabins, Mx updates and the new ordering system. Well they're there. Mx is actually done and integrated. It simply requires testing (again). Cabins isn't a million miles away either. Granted I've not looked at the saucy project for a hot minute but most of the Ui was done, I do believe it was more of the "stop users from doing things they shouldn't" part.

To summarise what I've said here then for those who prefer bullet points:

Now if you all know me, I understand that you all want pretty pictures with your simmy waffles.

So may I present you, a new update for aircraft market:

In this image, you can see we've finally updated the market data to now finally include FUEL data. Within this fuel data, you can see fuel Capacity of the aircraft (in KG only for now), fuel burn per hour (in KG only for now) and fuel cost per hour (in KG per hour for now).

==============================================

This does NOT mean you're going to be charged for fuel yet

==============================================

We've popped it here so you can make better fleet choices and gives you something more to look at. A theme you will start to see more of in the next coming updates.

That's all for now, so I shall leave you with that gift.

Until the next set of promises,
Simmy
