🚀 flyLAT Progress Friday

Well, let me just dust off the old notepad here. Right okay, let's go. Forgive the absence recently. Luke covered the reasons so let's not dwell. I just want to take a moment to say hello to all the new members, and for the older member, walk a little down the path of reminisce. flyLAT as a project started in 2022. That's nearly some 3 years ago and the app itself has come a long way since. Luke did an outstanding job on his own, coming from a non-technical background. I've been here for around 2 of those years and led by Luke, together we've achieved a true working harmony in our spare time. That's something I want to focus on. Spare time. We've said it and we'll continue to say, flyLAT is something we do in our spare time. So while I'm sure there are other apps seeing a lot of progress and updates, they likely have a larger team, uphold different values and look to achieve something of their own accord compared to us here in flyLAT. flyLAT is still in early access. You will see bugs, you will see features come and go and more importantly, a LOT of things are not complete. What we want to achieve in the long term with flyLAT, frankly needs a team of 10, working full time for the next 9 months to do everything we have planned. But alas, it's just regular ol' Simmy and the ol' mighty Luke. Coding this absolute monster of a project in our spare time. I think some of us forget that sometimes, and obviously to the new folks around here, that's news to you so now you know. Now all of this is important as we're about to head into the BETA phase of the next major update and as I've been teasing for weeks, there's so much new content coming, it'll change how some features work, how you'll run your airline and it'll all, in the long run, be for the better. So the first wave of testing will be heading out for the new 'Mx Project' which is how you 'repair' your aircraft. I covered this some weeks ago and we had a mixed bag of feedback. I'm by no means addressing that feedback here, but I am saying it's heading out for testing and it'll stay there for a while. This is because there's so much change coming, I need to release it in stages. So what is going out for testing is this:

Once we're happy that works, we'll introduce the next few features in the order as you see them:

Each bullet point there are MAJOR features. Usually you get one per update, yet here we are, doing several per update. So maybe now, you see why I wanted to remind us all about how flyLAT is, how we develop it and just how much we have planned.

Everything you see here, and even things I've not mentioned, is all so you can have schedules. 0.6 was meant to be about finances, and still is in many ways, but we're in a position where the band aids are coming off and we're going full tilt on the features.

phew, now that's off my chest I need a good coffee and I'm off to find my sanity.

Thank You
Simmy
