🚀 flyLAT BFU Progress Time

Alrighty then, breaking radio silence and crack this update wide open shall we? Grab a glass of milk and a box of cookies, this one is something of a long haul.

Yes okay, calm down, I know, I know. It's been a minute. No this isn't me saying we're ready for release at all so if you've come here with that in mind, like my wife, you will be disappointed. However what won't disappoint you is the sheer amount of content that is coming to this update, even if it's not technically brand new. Shall we have a look? Don't worry crayon boys, I've got your pictures in this update too.

Oh and if you're new to these progress updates, firstly, welcome. Secondly, I'm Simmy and I'm your host for this progress update.

flyMAIL

AHHHHHHHHH! WHITE MODE!

I forgot to warn the BETA team that I'd done this along with something you'll see shortly and I got called a few names and promptly got told I needed a "flashbang warning" considering the main colours of the app are darker than... this. Let's answer the question on everyone's mind then, why white? Honestly, I couldn't tell you. I was needing some better contrast, I need each app that we build into the main app to feel different. Almost like on your PC now, each app you open looks and feels different... unless you're using a office 365 product. Well ignoring the latter point, I want to give each app it's identity so I play around a little bit. Now it is worth mentioning that flyMAIL as of this image is still WIP and I'm likely going to change the look and feel of it when I add the last couple of features to it. Consider this UI as a earliest possible working version.

Ah yeah, the actual point of it. Ermm, send nice messages to your friends and your fellow company employees, removing the black box element of "how the hell do I message this pilot and tell him to stop taking a 777 on a 200nm flight that can barely fit a bloody C152". Yes, that's spoken from the heart, even as one of the devs, I have the same issue but hopefully this should remove that.

flyMAIL is also available on the mobile app already too so connectivity is the name of the game here.

Open Market 2

Imaged here is the open market 2 - WIP

Finally, a second hand market that actually feels like a market. Yes we're finally bringing the new market to you and that comes with a whole host of new stuff. Better filtering, better information on the aircraft you're buying and hopefully, a better overall experience. We've been over the details of this before so I won't drone on but here's a second image for your viewing pleasure.

Imaged here is a Market Item - WIP

So here we've got the full info set. Looking on the left side, you've got "static" information. This is the same info we show on your fleet assets and on new aircrafts. As for the rest of the page, well where do we begin?! Starting at the top, you can see we have owner history. Anyone that's used second hand car apps will know they too show you this information and if nothing else, it's just really cool. Location, I don't think that needs explaining. As for the rest of the data, it's everything to do with your maintenance history, lifespan and Operational costs of the aircraft. This is the kind of information I suspect folks will seriously enjoy.

Maintenance Overhaul - Fleet Management

Bringing in the new maintenance, also means new management screens. Some of the biggest points we've had about this project is "that's going to feel like a second job", "I'm not clicking each aircraft and maintaining it", "I can't be bothered".

Well, you can't say I didn't listen. This management screen has some really horrible steps so let me explain:
1. Click into the Maintenance Manager to get to this screen
2. Click the REALLY BIG green button
3. ---

I know.. how horrible.

As for those that prefer to understand their maintenance needs, may I present you

You've got all the information you need here about your aircraft and it's maintenance needs. So I really do think we've catered to all audiences. Plus in the near future we will implement a IN-GAME PAID (paying with company cash) auto maintainer.

oh shi--- is that the time? Right okay one last one!

Trader App

Cargo is back with a brand new track and a fresh make-up. I'll hold my hands up and say I did a really shit job of the ui for the cargo previously so please accept this offering as my repentance. As it stands, this image is a nearly done ui state however there's 1 search type missing. That's going in this week, which should keep some of the BETA team happy.

Cargo is getting a full overhaul in terms of Ui, going to try and make it a little more clear ahead of the phase 2 cargo system coming in.

Oh okay fine... 1 more.

Permissions

Aside from the all new employee ui, it's finally here. It's finally time. You all have been PESTERING ME about this for months and well... I still took my time :D

I think this needs no introduction, only a statement to say the permissions you see, are the permissions you get. This is why this update is taking so long. I have to manually test every single function as per the permission from an employee stand point as NOTHING was designed with this in mind.... Looking at you Luke with your bs "only CEO's should be able to do this" mentality. Damn rookie (p.s. he's literally never done professional coding, that's why I'm here).

Anyway, I think my subtle dig will go unmissed. More permissions will come in the future, with future updates however with what I've said in mind, be patient about it as it really does take days to test one permission.

phew... now I need a keyboard. Luke get the company credit card, I need to order the loudest keyboard I can find for our next meeting.

Until next time,

Simmy
